Climate & Energy L.'') is a student-run law review published at the University of San Diego School of Law. Del Monte, ''Letter from the Founding Editor'', 1 iv (2009).〕 The editor-in-chief of the journal's first issue remarked that he hoped the journal would generate "meaningful discussion that will provide real-world solutions" to problems associated with climate change.〔Vic A. Merjanian, ''Letter from the Editor'', iii (2009).〕 The faculty of the university granted approval for the journal in 2008, and the first edition was published in 2009.〔 To generate article submissions for the first issue, the journal's editorial board hosted a symposium on topics relating to climate change and energy law.〔
